THINK COUNTRY: Bryan Ruby Gives It Right Back to Heartbreak With New Single “Come Back – Acoustic”

Moving up rapidly in Nashville’s music community and beyond, Pennsylvania native Bryan Ruby is set to release an acoustic version of his recent single “Come Back” on Friday, October 18th. The song is for anyone who has ever endured an ugly breakup and despite the heartache, struggles through it and finally comes to the realization that it was never going to be a good relationship anyway. In the end, the one on the receiving end of the breakup has the benefit of seeing things in 20/20 hindsight and gets the upper hand. The song, co-written by Bryan Ruby, Fran Litterski and Tyler Bank, may just become the ultimate “I’m over you” anthem.

The original version of “Come Back” (produced by Smith Curry) appears on Ruby’s 2024 EP Found & Lost, a collection of well-crafted heartbreak songs. Now, with the help of Matt Menefee of the Grammy Award-winning folk rock band Mumford & Sons and bluegrass supergroup WoodBox Heroes and producer David Axelrod, Ruby is excited to release what he believes may be his “best raw performance to date.” As he travels to play across the country, audience reaction to “Come Back” has been wildly positive, with fans sending complimentary messages.

With lyrics based on Ruby’s personal experience, the soon-to-be released acoustic version of “Come Back” takes the song to a new level of authenticity. “It’s the moment you look a deep wound in the eye and say ‘no more,’” shared Ruby. He continued, “It was an honor to join an actual real-life rockstar in the studio and make this new version come to life.”

“I had to belt out the original version of this song really big to match the rest of the record. This song works ‘big,’ but it also works when the band unplugs and the story becomes more intimate, raw and vulnerable.” – Bryan Ruby

“I wanted this acoustic version to feel like the day we wrote it. I sat in the living room with my co-writer friends Fran Litterski and Tyler Bank and just let it all out – the shock, the pure hurt, the raw anger and the frustration you feel right after the person you thought you could count on most lets you down. It sounds like a sad song, but when you dig into the story, you see this is really a ‘take-back-your-power’ moment after a relationship goes down the drain.” – Bryan Ruby

The new single is available for pre-save now and will automatically arrive in your preferred music library upon its release.  PRE-SAVE “COME BACK – ACOUSTIC” HERE.
