Dani Rose is paying tribute to where she once called home.
The budding country songstress just dropped her latest single “California” earlier today (July 24), and it’s the perfect blend of both her country roots and her love for pop and rock elements while highlighting the glamorous yet challenging lifestyle of California’s most alluring cities.
“California captures my wild ride out West – the good, the bad, and everything in between. It’s a quirky, heartfelt song dedicated to my former home, blending joy, heartbreak, and a dash of humor,” Dani shares enthusiastically in a press release.
Co-written by Rose with Candi Carpenter, Aaron Kessler and Alden Witt, the track was co-produced by Jaxon Hargrove (Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Little Big Town), Witt, Kessler and Carpenter. It’s the perfect summer anthem to blast on your drives to the lake this season, as its iconic melody gives Sheryl Crow‘s “All I Wanna Do” while its story-driven lyrics resemble the timeless classic “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra.
“California” follows Dani’s latest release “Good Mourning,” which detailed the rockin’ country singer’s rebirth and the next chapter of her musical career. Her recent EP, Got It From My Mama, included a heartwarming collection of songs celebrating mothers everywhere. “Got It From My Mama” gained massive popularity on TikTok, peaking at #2 on the US TikTok Charts, and earning 1.3 billion video views on TikTok with over 1 million videos made using the song. The EP also featured a bilingual version of the song, titled “Got It From My Mama (Lo Tengo De Mi Mama),” with 2x Latin Grammy award-winning superstar Chiquis, who sang with Rose in both English and Spanish.
Just like the scorching hot temperatures outside, Dani is heating up for her best summer yet as she plans on releasing new music while playing select shows in Nashville and beyond. Just recently, the multi-hyphenate made her way to Bridgeport, Connecticut for a special headlining set at the Steelpointe Boat Show, which she told Celeb Secrets was nothing less than “epic.”
“The whole band attended the pre-party at Three Wing Aviation the night before and got to tour some of the private planes, helicopters and bikes and sip on cocktails with celebrity bartender Phil Wills. I had a great time with the band and we danced and said hi to people attending the party that were eager to hear us headline the next night!” she shared.
“Show day was full of surprises! We toured yachts and went on a couple boat rides. There were several booths promoting products – my bestie and celeb skincare consultant Ian Michael Crumm was one of them. He has a new subscription service coming soon that I can’t wait to be a part of. I also tried one of my new favorite drinks ‘Soiree,’ it’s non alcoholic and vegan, I asked to do some social media with the team while I was there. I had no idea it was the brainchild of Margaret Josephs from Real Housewives of NJ! She is the sweetest and I’m so excited for her new sparkling Mocktail,” she continued.
“After a full day of being treated like kings and queens at the show, we played an hour long set inside the club on the second floor overlooking all of the yachts in the harbor to a very excited, country music loving crowd. I played a couple of my songs from Yellowstone and one of my favorites, ‘Got It From My Mama.’ 10/10 would recommend playing the Steelpointe Boat Show!” she concluded.
